Hey, I'm Nikkea!

I’ve always had a passion for nurturing growth and creating meaningful connections. Before stepping into the world of doula work, I spent years as a preschool teacher, guiding little ones through their early learning journeys. While I adored every moment with my students, I knew I wanted to make a bigger impact—not just in the classroom but in the lives of entire families.

That’s when I discovered my true calling: supporting parents and children as they navigate the incredible, transformative journey of growing their family.

Today, I’m proud to be a certified doula and sibling readiness expert, helping families create a harmonious and loving environment during one of life’s most exciting (and sometimes challenging) transitions. Whether it’s preparing older siblings for their new roles or providing hands-on postpartum support, I’m here to guide you every step of the way.

Why I Do This Work

I believe every family deserves to feel supported, empowered, and connected. Welcoming a new baby should be a time of joy, not stress—and I’m here to help you find balance and peace as your family grows.

My mission is to equip you with the tools, knowledge, and confidence you need to thrive. Together, we’ll create a nurturing space where everyone—parents, siblings, and baby—can flourish.

When I’m not supporting families, you’ll find me enjoying a good book, spending time outdoors, or soaking up precious moments with my own loved ones.

I’m so glad you’re here, and I can’t wait to be part of your family’s journey.

Let’s connect and create something beautiful together!

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a birth and postpartum doula?

Birth doulas are focused on supporting parents during pregnancy, labor, delivery, and the immediate aftermath. The primary goal is to help them achieve the birth they desire and provide support during these times. Usually, a birth doula visits once or twice after birth to discuss how it went.

Postpartum doulas are focused on the aftermath of birth and helping care for parents and babies. These doulas can perform a variety of household tasks, like baby laundry or meal prep, as well as take care of the baby for short periods. They may also focus on mental health in the postpartum period and helping parents make this transition.

Many doulas are both birth and postpartum doulas, allowing them to offer the full spectrum of support. The two roles are complementary.

Will my partner feel replaced by a doula?

Doulas are in no way meant to take on the same role as your partner. Your partner knows you, your comforts, your emotions, and what you need better than anyone and will be a huge part of your birth, recovery and postpartum period. Doulas come with knowledge about pregnancy, birth, and postpartum that your partner may not have and help them find the best way to apply that knowledge to you. We love to work with partners, giving them tips for comfort measures and empowering them to be a part of the journey.

Are postpartum doulas nurses?

Nope! Postpartum doulas are non-medical professionals. We do not check incisions or answer medical questions. We do know what does and does not fall within the range of normal. And we have a comprehensive list of resources for you.

Does insurance cover postpartum doula support?

Depends. You'll need to contact your insurance company to see if they will reimburse you for doula services. Alternatively, you can pay our invoices from your HSA or FSA account.

"Nikkea has been my doula since the time I got pregnant. She was extremely helpful throughout my whole experience.

She was a great support throughout the entire process. I felt a lot of comfort knowing that she was there to support me along with my husband. She is very knowledgeable and most importantly genuinely cares about her clients."
